Play Details

This new adaptation, specifically for Incognito Theatre, is based on Chekhov's "Vaudeville".  An elderly actor wakes in a silent theatre. After his initial shock he finds he is not alone.  Two characters:  1 male 60 plus, 1 male any age from young to middle age.  The script will be modified to suit the actors cast and their input will be encouraged!

The Proposal

Shortish play in which an elderly landowner receives a visit from a neighbour who wishes to ask for the hand of the landowner's daughter in marriage. A number of misunderstandings and arguments arise out of this situation to comic effect. Three characters: 1 male 50s to 60s, 1 male 30s to 40s, 1 female mid 20s to mid 30s. Audition pieces to be selected from the Michael Frayn translation.

The Regina Monologues

This play is in one act and lasts about an hour. There are 6 characters; all are female and vary in age from young to middle-aged. They represent the 6 wives of Henry VIII but in a modern setting. Each wife tells the story of her relationship with Henry by way of six interwoven monologues. A penetrating look at gender relationships that swings from the comic to the tragic and back again. Audition pieces for The Regina Monologues will be the first set of monologues on the first four pages of the play.
